Reliable alerting for optimal crisis management in industry

Despite strict safety precautions, accidents, fires, explosions or the release of hazardous substances in industrial plants cannot be ruled out. An efficient warning system can save lives in an emergency.

Malfunctions, damage or failures in large industrial plants, especially chemical plants, carry an increased safety risk. Despite strict safety precautions, emergencies, fires, explosions or the release of hazardous substances in industrial plants cannot be ruled out. In the event of toxic gases escaping or heavy smoke developing during fires, the surrounding population as well as wildlife and nature are additionally threatened.

In the event of an emergency, the safety officers of an industrial plant or power station must ensure that the responsible emergency services are informed, that faults are rectified as quickly as possible and that hazards are averted. They are responsible for assessing the situation with regard to a possible danger to persons and the environment and to warn the affected population if necessary. Sirens are used to alert + warn the workforce and the surrounding population, and important information is transmitted via app messages, radio and other information channels. Mobile sirens with voice announcements are an additional efficient means of alerting and informing and are a suitable redundancy to stationary alarm systems.

Additional tips and advice for more security in the industry:

  • Conduct regular education and training of emergency personnel.
  • Information and sensitisation of the workforce and the surrounding opulation
  • Have a reporting catalogue and procedures ready for emergencies
  • Rapid processing of important tasks of the responsible safety centre
  • Visualisation of procedures and graphic representation of scenarios support the control centre so that it can act intuitively and effectively in the event of an emergency
  • Regular control of the alerting means
