Thank you for visiting our website. We want you to feel comfortable on our websites and not have to worry about the confidentiality of your data. We feel very committed to data protection and consider transparency in the handling of our customers' data to be very important. That is why we would like to inform you about what data we collect, for what purpose we do so and how you can always have control over your data.

The operator of this website takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
By using this website, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data in the country and abroad as described in this privacy policy.
The privacy policy published on this website at the time of use applies to the use of the website. If you wish to enter into special contractual agreements with us regarding data protection in relation to the products and services we offer, please contact us separately at the address given in point 2 below.
2. Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
The data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator:
Kockum Sonics AG
Brandholzweg 2
8304 Wallisellen
Phone: +41 (44) 820 31 91
E-mail: info@kockumsonics.ch
If you have any questions or concerns about data protection, you can contact us at any time at this address.
3. How do we collect your data?
On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form. On the other hand, data is also collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of page view). Please refer to the description under point 7 below for details on the technical collection and use of data by cookies, analysis tools and third-party plug-ins.
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, the information you provide in the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. If you send us personal data from third parties, please ensure that the person concerned agrees to this.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after we have completed processing your enquiry).
Mandatory legal regulations – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
4. What do we use your data for?
We use your data exclusively for the purposes described in this data protection declaration, namely to market and provide products or services, to answer your enquiries via the contact form or to send you the newsletters you have ordered. Some of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without error. The data created when using the website may also be used to analyse your user behaviour. Please refer to the description under point 7 below for details on the technical collection and use of data by cookies, analysis tools and third-party plug-ins.
5. What rights do you have regarding your data?
5.1 Rights of the persons affected
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data.
5.2 Right of appeal
Furthermore, in the event of violations of data protection law, you have the right to take legal action as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority for data protection in Switzerland is the
Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
5.3 Revocation of consent
ESome data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent, such as sending the newsletter described in point 8 below. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. An informal communication by e-mail to us is sufficient for this purpose.
The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation. 5.4 DS-GVO
Although as a Swiss company we are subject to the Swiss Data Protection Act, for users from the EU we also strive to comply with the standard of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“DS-GVO”), which came into force on 25 May 2018.
Should you be able to assert special data subject rights under the DS-GVO or have any other concerns in this regard, please contact us at the address given in point 2 above.
6. Technical and organisational measures
This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the website operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
However, we would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
7. Cookies, analysis tools and plug-ins from third-party providers
When visiting our website, personal data and also your surfing behaviour may be statistically evaluated by third-party providers abroad. This is done primarily with cookies and with so-called analysis programs and plug-ins.
In some cases, you can counteract such data collection and processing through technical settings. Please note, however, that in this case some of the functions of the website cannot be fully used accordingly.
7.1 Cookies
Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping basket function) are stored. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies to analyse your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are described separately in this data protection declaration.
For more information about the cookies we use, please see our Cookie Statement at https://kockumsonics-ag.ch/cookie-declaration/.
7.2 Server-Log-Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP-address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of his website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.
7.3 Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.
7.3.1 IP anonymisation
We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. This means that your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
7.3.2 Google Browser Plugin
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. In addition, you can prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
7.3.3 Objection to this data collection
You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which will prevent the collection of your data during future visits to this website: Google Analytics deaktivieren.
For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
7.3.4 Order data processing
We have entered into the standard data processing agreement with Google published on their website, in which Google guarantees compliance with European data protection regulations.
7.3.5 Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics
This website uses the “demographic characteristics” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as shown in the item “Objection to data collection”.
7.4 Google AdWords and Google Conversion-Tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
Within the framework of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the internet browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify the user. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we will be able to recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.
Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked across AdWords customers’ websites. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in to conversion tracking. The customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can object to this use by easily deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. More information on Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/. You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
7.5 YouTube
Our website uses plugins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited.
If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers.
You can find more information on the handling of user data in YouTube’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
7.6 Vimeo
Our website uses plugins from the video portal Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo Inc, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. When you visit one of our pages equipped with a Vimeo plugin, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established. This tells the Vimeo server which of our pages you have visited. In addition, Vimeo obtains your IP address. This also applies if you are not logged in to Vimeo or do not have an account with Vimeo. The information collected by Vimeo is transmitted to the Vimeo server in the USA.
If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you enable Vimeo to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.
For more information on the handling of user data, please refer to the Vimeo privacy policy at:
https://vimeo.com/privacy.
7.7 Typekit Web Fonts
This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Adobe Typekit for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Adobe Typekit’s servers. This enables Adobe Typekit to know that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Adobe Typekit Web Fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.
You can find more information about Adobe Typekit Web Fonts at https://typekit.com/ and in the Adobe Typekit privacy policy: https://www.adobe.com/de/privacy/policies/typekit.html
7.8 Google Maps
This site uses the map service Google Maps via an API. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA..
In order to use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission.
The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers and of an easy location of the places indicated by us on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
8. Newsletter
8.1 Consent
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected or only on a voluntary basis.
The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent. You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing procedures already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you provide us with for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us and our service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members’ area) or which we have to store for legal reasons remain unaffected by this.
8.2. Campaign Monitor
The newsletter is sent using our service provider “Campaign Monitor”, a newsletter delivery platform of the Australian provider Campaign Monitor, Level 38, 201 Elizabeth Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia (www.campaignmonitor.com).
Please note that the email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other personal data described in this notice, are stored on Campaign Monitor’s servers in Australia, the USA and Germany.
Campaign Monitor uses this information to send and analyse newsletters on our behalf. Furthermore, Campaign Monitor may, according to its own information, use this data to optimise or improve its own services, for example to technically optimise the dispatch and presentation of the newsletters or for economic purposes to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, Campaign Monitor does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them ourselves or to pass it on to third parties.
We trust Campaign Monitor’s reliability and IT and data security. Campaign Monitor is certified to the ISO 27001 standard for security and has contractually committed to comply with the EU data protection requirements of the GDPR as of 25 May 2018. You can view Campaign Monitor’s data protection policy here: https://www.campaignmonitor.com/trust/
8.3. Conclusion of a Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Campaign Monitor in which we oblige Campaign Monitor to comply with the applicable data protection provisions and to ensure data protection that is appropriate for Switzerland and the EU (Art. 28 DS-GVO).
8.4. Statistical collection and analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the Campaign Monitor server when the newsletter is opened. In the course of this retrieval, technical information, such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of the retrieval are initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of CampaignMonitor to observe individual users. The analyses serve us much more to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
8.5. Cancellation / Revocation
You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. This will also terminate your consent to the sending of the newsletter via Campaign Monitor and the statistical analyses. Unfortunately, it is not possible to separately cancel the sending of the newsletter via Campaign Monitor (and the associated transfer of personal data abroad) or the statistical analysis. You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.
